Wednesday Teams: 
We are still looking for 2 more Senior/Senior Reserve players to play with the intermediate / junior players for the next 3 Wednesdays, starting at 6.50pm. Senior/ Senior Reserve players play free. Email the office if you can help.

Cost:The tournament committee has amended the cost of the entry fee which is now $30.

Morning & Afternoon tea provided and any dietary requirements are required by the closing date by email to the office. 
Also entry fee payment to be paid into the club’s bank account is required by this Thursday.

Added 11-Oct-2024 Wednesday Night Teams: Starts next Wednesday Attention: Club Senior/Senior Reserve Players A 3-night event on Wednesdays Oct 16, 23, 30 Note: 7pm start We have the teams event for Juniors & Intermediates “Play with an Expert” Each team will consist of one senior and 3 juniors or intermediates, 3 rounds per night, with the senior playing with each of the juniors/intermediates. You must commit to the 3 nights or find a substitute for your team. We need 20 helpful kind Seniors / Senior Reserve players. These sessions are free for the Senior / SR player. Attention: Club Junior / Club Intermediate Players We have space for another seven teams of 3 junior or intermediate players as long as we get enough senior/senior reserve players. Play with an expert: This is your chance to find how much fun teams are and to play with a senior player!! A 3-night event on Oct 16, 23, 30 Note: 7pm start You will need three in your team and you will be joined by a Senior player who will play one round with each of your team each night. Tournament Results Rubber Bridge: Graeme Tuffnell & Jan Alabaster are the Canterbury reps for the 2024 Rubber final being held in Tauranga later this year. National Swiss Pairs: Leon Meier with Auckland player Geo Tisevoll were 5th out of 96 pairs. Ashburton All Grades: John Kruiniger and Liz Fitzgerald came 2nd. Wednesday Seminar: this week. Topic: Leads, Signals and Discards Sunday Seminar: Aimed at Junior & Intermediate players. Date & Time: Sunday 18th August at 10am. Tutor: Jane Skipper Topic: ‘Card Play – How to use your trumps to best effect’ Club Senior / Junior Teams Date: Saturday 17th August. To compete a Senior or Senior Reserve pair forms a team with a Junior or Intermediate Pair. Christchurch Club Grades will be used. Enter as a team, or a pair and we will match you up! The format of the matches will be: Senior / SR Pair v Senior/ SR Pair & Junior / Int Pair v Junior/ Int Pair Members with Gmail The club has an issue with sending bulk emails to members who have a gmail address as google has put a filter on mass emails being sent out. The emails either don’t arrive or arrive much later. Our IT people are looking at other options or a fix so in the meantime members can keep up with the club news on the club's website.
